Click on picture to enlarge Ho Dog's Nationals cattle run in Started. He got the worst draw of the day, as you can see; the three black cows had their own agenda, and it didn't include either sticking with their other two pals nor doing what Ho Dog and I wanted them to do. Neal DeShazo was the judge, and while he liked what he saw, we didn't quite make the second panel in spite of our best efforts, thus we were just shy of a qualifying score. His score was still good enough for 6th out of 50+ entries. Also, as you can see, the arena was a total clay mud pit after three days of rain, which made for some tricky footing for both stock and dog (check out the shot on the next page of the mud flying off Ho's body!).
