Cricket vs. Rufus

She peels him off the fenceline-incredible for a young dog to do this first time out, no teeth involved

Rufus gives in to her

I know what you're thinking - no she is NOT a Border Collie without a tail!

These pictures were taken by Dale.  They are of Cricket, at 15 months of age, her first time ever on stock.  The sheep are our 3 non-dog broke 3 month old Dorpedo lambs (Dorper ram, Barbado ewes) and Suzee the Suffolk, our 250# Suffolk ewe from the auction.  Rufus is the oldest lamb, he's actually 4 months old, and he's got plenty of snot in him.  Both he and Spot, the younger lamb, are wethers.  This is the second time they've been worked; the first time was by Ho Dog just a few hours before Cricket.  For those who say Aussies don't generally have eye unless they've got Border Collie in their lines, here's the proof of the pudding that ain't necessarily so.  Cricket's pedigree doesn't contain any "suspect" bloodlines.  She's got more talent than I can probably handle, and that eye is going to make her pretty sticky.  She'll be trying on our three young steers next week; I think that is where she'll shine.
