The sheep arrived via our new Silverlite trailer from the Lyles of Vaquero Aussies in Sweet Home, Oregon.  They are 3 Barbado (American Blackbelly) ewes named Hocus, Pocus and Gnat.  They all were expecting, having been bred to a nice Dorper ram a few months prior.  In due time, all gave birth to three wild looking lambs, our "reverse miniature Holsteins" as we called them.  You'll see why, when you see the pix.  Many folks who have never seen a Barb (short for Barbado) sheep have no idea what they are, which led several neighbours to call them "geeps" - a cross between goats (which they resemble strongly) and sheep.  We call their lambs "Dorpedos" a mix of Dorper (sire) and Barbado (moms).  Later there came Suzee the Suffolk ewe, from the Eugene Livestock auction.  Suzee weighed in at 250#!!  Her pix will be up later on.  We think she may be pregnant but don't know for sure just yet.
